Abaas R.A was asked if he had performed Eid salaah with the Prophet SAW, to which he replied, "Yes, once the Prophet SAW performed the Eid salaah, gave khutbah and then went to the women and gave them naseehah (advise) to fear Allah SWT and to give charity. I saw the women handing over their jewelry to Bilaal R.A ." So, if there is separate accommodation for women, then it is permissible for them to join the Eid congregation. However it is not compulsory to read Eid salaah, rather it is wajib for the men to do so. Taraaweeh salaah is sunnat-e-muaqadha (emphasized sunnah) for women.
