My husband divorced me thrice in one time setting. How long is my iddah? Does he have to maintain me? Do I live in his home during iddah? Please advice me I am a new Muslimah.
Answer
Your iddat period is three haiz (regardless of how long it takes for those three menstrual cycles to go by, after the talaq had been given) in which you must stay in his home away from your ex-husband because the sexual relations are haram. The cost of your living is wajib upon your ex-husband, in other words your divorced husband will pay your food, clothing and rent.And Allah knows best.
